On Thursday, July 26, the Chicago Connectory hosted Bosch and Cimphoni – a company that provides IT consulting and solutions services – for an event called, “Bosch Conversations with Cimphoni – Jump Start Your Digital Journey.”
More than 30 people attended the event, where they learned the concepts and technologies that underpin the digital transformation of manufacturing. Amanda Quick, director of program design for the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute, a manufacturing hub headquartered in Chicago, discussed how we are now in our fourth industrial revolution (I4.0). After that, Rodney Rusk, I4.0 business leader at Bosch Rexroth Corporation, shared a Bosch overview about I4.0.
Later, Douglas Robinson, director of corporate business development for Bosch, moderated the panel with Rick Davidson, president & CEO of Cimphoni; Dattatri Salagame, vice president of digital business for RBEI; and Jochen (Joe) Renz, IOTA advisor. They had an open discussion about the digital imperative for industrial manufacturing with active participation from the attendees asking questions.
After the panel, Brad Schmitz, principal consultant at Cimphoni, presented, “Digital Transformation – An Enterprise Perspective.”
“If your company does not have a digital strategy and a digital perspective in how it will operate, there is a good chance that it won’t be relevant for the marketplace,” he said.
Before Dattatri Salagame closed the event, Shankar Rao, head of the digital transformation office for Bosch shared more knowledge about orchestrating enterprise digital transformation.
“It was a very good overview,” said Chris Rollyson, service designer and managing consultant at Christopher S. Rollyson and Associates (CSRA). “I liked the emphasis on top down and bottom up that Cimphoni works with.”
